i love using cereal box board as a painting surface. throw on some gesso, then slop around some saturated acrylic color, take the x-acto knife to it, and voila! a fun sketch emerges. oh...and add some quirky cut-outs from magazines.

did some painting! do these two pieces talk to each other? if so, what do they say? i am not happy with the lighting in this photo. this image is taken with light from light bulbs. i am used to shooting from natural light. i have to find a way to do that here in my loft space.

i have been back in the studio for the past week or so, getting warmed up for my self-imposed residency. my intention is to paint and quilt and stitch and watch how the mediums interact and talk to each other. for some reason all i can do right now is play with silly collage stuff. so that is what i am doing

off with black cherry puppet theatre for a few days. summer painting and stitching residency to start when i return!
